(IT-NEWSWIRE.COM, March 30, 2015 ) Paris, France -- Paris-based worldwide arts movement World Citizen Artists is holding a special music event in Paris at the renowned Bataclan Cafe, to celebrate its first anniversary.
The event, supported by International Day of Peace is to be attended by musicians from around the world, is being held to coincide with the world-famous Fete de la Musique, a day in which the French authorities allow musicians to play freely throughout France, including the capital city Paris.
The music festival is held every year on 21 June, and sees thousands of musicians playing in various parts of the city. The day is also known as World Music Day, and is celebrated by musicians around the world as the first day of summer.
An intrinsic part of the World Citizen Artists work is the celebration and raising awareness of United Nations world days.
World Citizen Artists was founded a year ago to foster humanitarian initiatives through artistic creativity. With more than 50,000 followers, the movement has grown rapidly and last year held an international art and music competition in partnership with Belgravia Gallery,named Gallery of the Year 2013. One of Europe's leading art galleries, it regularly features the work of renowned artists and celebrities, Playing for Change Foundation - a music foundation with more that 100 million followers worldwide and issuu, one of the world's leading digital publishing platforms, which gives publishers tools to deliver over 5 billion page views each month to more than 80 million readers.
Some of the winners of the World Citizen Artists competition will be attending the Paris event and perform.
The Bataclan is a famous venue in Paris, known for leading-edge concerts and gigs. The adjacent cafe, modelled on a Chinese Theatre, is known as a hangout for musicians and fans. Musicians who play there include Alpha Blondy, Paul Weller and Jimmy Cliff.
