(IT-NEWSWIRE.COM, May 05, 2015 ) Dublin, Ireland -- Amazon restricts sellers from listing products in selected categories. The restricted categories impacts on sales timelines but does not affect the bottom line according to a new online seller on Amazon. The statement was released earlier today in preparation for the company annual board meeting which takes place on May 1.
'Many sellers stay away from the restricted categories as they see them as a complete no-go area. Our experience is quite different. We found that it takes longer to get approved for these selected categories and sellers may even have to demonstrate a great seller rating prior to approval' commented the seller of a small niche product on Amazon. com and Amazon.co.uk.
She added 'It is certainly true to say that approval can take some time and requires a certain resilience. However things get much simpler once the approval to sell comes through. Sales turnover can be very rewarding in these restricted categories partly because many sellers stay away from these categories. We found that selling in restricted categories affected our timelines but not our bottom line.'
Restricted categories include jewellry, clothes, scientific, industrial and health.

Company spokeswoman said 'We have enjoyed great success selling in both restricted and unrestricted categories and we are just delighted to be able to partner with Amazon who take care of logistics for us'.
