(IT-NEWSWIRE.COM, May 13, 2015 ) London, UK -- Apple's recent quarterly earnings report shows yet another huge stride ahead for the technology giant, and much of that down to global sales of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Back in January Apple announced $74.6bn earnings and a record $18bn net profit for the quarter ended December 2014 compared with earnings of $57.6bn and a net profit of $13.1bn 12-months earlier.
While that is exciting news for the Apple shareholders the rise in revenue appears to be a direct consequence of the launch of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
With the increased demand for large screened smartphones Apple had been losing out to the likes of Samsung which had been quick to capture that particular market niche with the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus appears to have been a smart business move by Apple and that could be proved when the corporation, as expected announces increased profits.
The success of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is already seeing consumers migrating back from Samsung to Apple.
That is proving to be a boost for producers of iPhone accessories, a market now worth over $10bn annually. The larger and thinner iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus can be difficult to grip and a fall can lead to a smashed screen and expensive repairs. Meanwhile, Apple shares could also receive a further boost as market analysts predict that sales of the iPhone 6 ranges are set to buck the seasonal trend and sell in numbers during the traditionally slack June and September quarters.
Already there are predictions that sales will top almost 43 million in the June quarter and around 45 million for the September quarter.
