(IT-NEWSWIRE.COM, June 11, 2015 ) London, UK -- A case produced by British company Boom has been designed to spare iPhone 6 users the grief of damaged phones and having to meet heavy repair or excess insurance costs.
The iPhone 6 along with the larger iPhone 6 Plus offers users all the benefits of the large screen phone. These handsets have also been designed to be lighter and thinner. While the lighter phones may be much more convenient to carry, they are also even more vulnerable.
Drop or knock the devices and they can be easily damaged. Boom moved to counter this problem with the development of the new Amazon in the UK .
Not only does the Shock-2, available for both the iPlus 6 and iPlus 6, provide protection, it also includes a rubberised 'secure grip' design aimed at reducing the chances of dropping the handset in the first instance.
There is always the danger with protective cases that they can make the smartphone bulky, with access to the various port and buttons difficult. They can also make the device look ugly. The designers of the Shock-2 have avoided this. They also added a built-in kick stand to make hands-free viewing of the iPhone 6 all the more secure.
Key to the success of the Shock-2 in helping save phones from damage is its advanced 2-part hybrid protection. This involves a soft inner sleeve made of shock absorbing TPU. TPU is proved to be superior to just silicone alone. The inner sleeve interlocks with a polycarbonate outer shell which is both hard and shatter proof.
The design allows for this ultra-slim case to be able to provide optimal resistance to shocks, and drops.
Because of its design, the iPhone 6 is sometimes troublesome to grip and easy to let slip. The Shock-2 counters this problem by giving the user what the producers describe as a "Kung Fu" grip, thanks to a rugged tyre tread design and anti-slip side panels.
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus corners are particularly fragile, but they are guarded by the Shock-2's reinforced cushioned corners.
Other features include a raised front-side bezel, approximately 2mm over the edge, to protect the screen if the phone is dropped faced down.
Available from online retailer Shock-2 Hybrid Protection Case, the Shock-2 is priced at £15.99 for the iPhone 6 and £18.99 for the iPhone 6 Plus in Red, Black, White and Blue.
