(IT-NEWSWIRE.COM, July 14, 2015 ) Wilmington, Delaware -- Stunning Gadgets has been facing down the odds against many shady manufacturers across the world that are using the company's branding image and even slogan to bait people into buying low quality products. Everything from cool glasses to low quality shoes being sold online seem to be carrying the Stunning Gadgets' logo which the company says it "takes very seriously". Now the company has started pursuing a number of legal avenues to curb the so called black-market.
The challenge for Stunning Gadgets is to try and curb the black market which originates from abroad especially in the survival gear niche. The issue is that even US law cannot touch shady manufacturers in China, Taiwan, Korea and other parts of the world where manufacturing is cheaper, it's also unregulated and copyright laws are loose. While sales of the products bearing the company's trademark logo can be banned in America and some parts of the Europe to some extent by means of a court ruling but it may still be largely unsuccessful. However, Stunning Gadgets seems to think that it can curb the black market by playing an aggressive legal game.
"Our job as a tech company is to make sure that the brand name is not misused by criminals who bank on it. The best way for us to do is to file a case in the countries' respective courts. So, if we see that a seller is based in China we can lodge a case there, similarly if it's originating from some part of Europe or Asia. The goal is to really ensure that the Stunning Gadgets brand name is not tarnished by people selling low quality products but which unfortunately bear our logo." said a legal advisor to Stunning Gadgets "...make no mistake this is not an issue that gets fixed within a few days, if anything it will take years. If other lawsuits are anything to go by its a pretty long process but it's the only way for us to ensure that our brand is not harmed in any way by external criminal forces."
Obviously for Stunning Gadgets winning a couple of cases will send a strong message to people engaged in manufacturing, supplying and selling low quality products bearing the brand name in the Survival Tools range. But even getting a couple of cases heard is going to be a challenge as it has been for other big businesses like Microsoft and Samsung as of late. So, it will certainly be interesting to see how things turn out for the company.
