(IT-NEWSWIRE.COM, August 19, 2015 ) Malibu, CA -- Smaller, cheaper and now available. After a while without any announcements, Scandi Tech just brought a new product to market. Following the company's general direction, this product fits right in. "Yes, we just launched our stand alone battery kit for iPhone 5. As always, we've been listening to our customers and based on their feed back we thought it would be a good idea to give our customers the choice to buy the battery without the tool kit", says Andrew Gibbs, Scandi Tech's spokesperson.
The new iPhone 5 battery kit is actually much like the previous battery kit but without the tools. The new product is packaged more efficiently in a smaller box but with the same protection. A small instructions manual can be found inside the box but that's about it. "Our goal was to release a premium battery but at a low cost. We made the package smaller, lighter and removed the tools. This way we managed to cut cost both in production but also in shipping. This product is meant for people who already have the necessary tools for the job and don't want to spend more than necessary on a new battery", Andrew Gibbs continues.
As with the previous kit, Scandi Tech refers to their website for the full set of instructions and a video guide to help with the replacement. A comprehensive step by step guide helps their customers carry out the task at hand. At first glance it seems difficult and complicated but based on the reviews, the task is not as hard as it seems. Replacing the iPhone 5 battery can be done in less than 10 minutes by anyone, even with minimal technical knowledge. The replacement process starts by removing the two screws next to the charging port on the bottom of the phone. With the screws removed, the front assembly can be separated from the back assembly either with a suction cup or with tweezers. Once the front assembly is loosened, it can either be removed completely or held at a 90 degree angle while the battery connector cover is removed. Two screws hold this cover in place. After removing them the connector can be popped out with a spudger. Easiest way to remove the battery is by levering it upwards from the left side. Levering from the right side could damage the logic board. To complete the replacement the new iPhone 5 battery goes in the old ones place and the process is repeated backwards.
If completed successfully, the iPhone 5 battery will work just like new - and compared to going to the Apple Genius bar, the battery kit is affordable.
