Like most Apple products, the Watch comes with a hefty price-tag as well. Yet, buying the Apple Watch has been a problem all in itself. GunJoe is a new company out of Hillsboro, OR. Established and ran by two friends, Gunnar and Joseph, their goals were to create an Apple Watch case that protected the Watch while maintaining its0 slim size and lightweight. "The question was this," founder Joseph Hebert stated, "how can we create the thinnest case that would exceed the Protection needed for everyday impacts?"
Thoroughly analyzing several possibilities, the GunJoe company found the ideal material, Thermoplastic Polyurethane or TPU, to use for their Apple Watch case. TPU is a gel like plastic that absorbs impacts, spreading the focal point of the shock throughout the entire case. This reduces the amount of pressure the Apple Watch receives, keeping the Watch safe and protected. GunJoe also found that by providing a thin layer of TPU was all that was needed in order to fully protect the Apple Watch.
The Apple Watch is an innovative breakthrough in the technology world. Nearly all consumers have the Apple Watch on their radar, waiting to see whether or not Apple's new concept will catch on. However, the fact remains that if one is gonna spend the money to buy an Apple Watch, one should also spend the fraction of that cost to protect it as well.
