(IT-NEWSWIRE.COM, July 26, 2015 ) Newark NJ -- By Tafadzwa Chigwedere In less than 7 days since the African Entertainment Awards USA started its launch on social media, the award show has made a historic record breaking 4 million hits, which has created a wide spread buzz around Africa and the rest of the world. This goes without saying that this is an award show that Africans globally have been anticipating.
Movie and music artists such as Lupita Nyong'o, Djimon Hounsou, Charlieze Theron, Tinashe, Diamond Plantinumz, Yemi Alade and up and coming artists such as Yok 7 are just some of the many stars that are making the nomination list on this amazing launch of the African Entertainment Awards USA.
Not only focusing on the entertainment, the award show will also be showcasing sporting achievers, contributors to the community, entrepreneurial achievements and individuals who have not only empowered themselves, but are giving back to the roots of which they sprouted from.
One such man who will be honored and awarded with the Humanitarian Award is Akon. He recently set out to light up Africa by opening a solar academy. His goal is to supply light to 600 million people in rural communities across Africa. Electricity is rare and scarce in some rural parts of Africa and this initiative will go a long way as solar powering is rated as a clean and reusable source of energy.
The launch of the African Entertainment Awards USA already has the nod of approval from Essex County College - Africana Institute,The Weave Shop Jersey City which is one of the major hair franchises in New Jersey, and major support from US House of Representatives Congressman Donald Payne Jr. of 10th Congressional District of New Jersey. Part of the proceeds will benefit The Save Our Nation organization which is dedicated to helping orphans of Ebola struck regions in Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia. Currently over 9 thousand dollars has been raised since April.
The African Entertainment Awards USA has caught the attention of major financial institutions such as Wells Fargo Bank, PNC and Investors Savings Bank of whom hopefully one or all of them are going to play a great role as sponsors to help ensure the initiative behind the award show.
